"Baptism is one of the first steps to leaving the organisation," said steve2. So true, it happened to me too. I never felt the same afterwards.
Welcome maksutov and hope to hear more from you.
my name is russ, i'm 40 years old, from the uk, and i left the jws nearly 5 years ago.
i've been a member of the yuku board throughout that time, so there are probably some on here who know me already.
there seems to be more activity over here at the moment, so i thought i'd pop in and say hi.i was raised as a jw, started questioning it when i was 16, but there was no internet back then (well, no www anyway) so i got sucked right in and got baptized when i was 18. auxiliary pioneered on and off for a couple of years, then became a ministerial servant.

Welcome maksutov and hope to hear more from you.
some years ago (the year when i got baptized), i was at a district convention (or whatever they call them these days) with my best friend.
he had a part in one of those acting parts at the convention (i have no idea the term jw's use for them in english).
anyway, we were both seeing through the bullshit of the borg but weren't aware at the time of this forum or other "apostate" groups, nor of the full extent of the perversity of this religion.
four corners , abc , tv program shows the greyhound racing industry`s top trainers , owners ,ex stewards in at least 3 states , nsw ,qld , and vic , using live piglets , native possums ,and rabbits as bait for their racing dogs at training tracks.. they tie or bind the animals on a lure , let the dogs chase them a few times with muzzles on then take the muzzles off and let the dogs catch and maul them to death giving the dogs a taste for blood and give them an advantage in the racing industry.. if your an animal lover and against cruelty to animals you could let your voice be heard no matter where you live on planet earth .. let greyhound racing australia know the world is aware of this abhorrent practice .. thank you .
smiddy.
long time lurker here.
i don't want hate in our hearts - jw are wrong oh so wrong - and i want to blame this religion for making me cold and distant to the world.
but i believe everything is meant to be, we all have purpose in this world.
Hi Abigail
I have just followed you on Instagram.
I live in NSW but come from Melbourne and have non-witness relatives there. We may meet up one day.
I agree so much about not wanting hate in our hearts. All my life as a JW I followed to the letter the rules on disfellowshipping as did my parents who are now deceased. It does make you cold and distant to not only the world, but to others in the org. One of the things that woke me up was the lack of love shown to me, my mum when she was old and hubby's sister who has mental illness and is DF'd. The teachings did not even come into it until I discovered these forums, I was so shocked and still recovering. I always thought it was the absolute truth and had no real idea of the history of the org.
Welcome to no longer being a lurker. I'm not afraid of being found out either. I am not DF'd but am being shunned a bit at shopping centres, etc. Can't wait to hear the greatest story in the world. I will tell you my baptism story one day, you won't beat that!
On Instagram I am Hawkstorm13 as I go for Hawthorn in the AFL and the Melbourne Storm in the NRL. The 13, well it is supposed to be superstitious, isn't it?
i've been reading you for several months now and at last i decided to register !
i'm not sure if my post is in the good category so feel free to move it if it is not.... i'm french and i da'd in last november, losing my family by the way... i'm married and my wife is still in but our couple is still strong.. i still believe in the bible and i go from time to time in a baptist church.. i created a french website to expose the watchtower and its false teachings.
there is not a lot of websites like jwfacts in french so i tried to make it !.
Hi jw-verite
Welcome to the forum. I wish I could speak French half as well as you speak and write English. Actually I wish I could speak any French.
I was like you and found the awakening disturbing too, but now I am glad I have found out that my suspicions were not just paranoia. Like your wife, my husband was not very active and now we are both out and both researching like we have never researched before. The org many years ago published a book called Make Sure Of All Things, so that is what we are doing now, but not using the book, just its title.
Keep us posted about the birth of your new baby.
to the person, or persons responsible for creating this site.....my hats off to you, and yours.....im totally diggin this site.. thank you.
I agree this is the best site. The only problem is that I spend too much time reading stuff out to Mr Awake at last and he is lurking now and reading stuff to me.
Simon, you now need to start a site to help addicts of this site, like us.
this morning we opened our front door to find 5 magazines, 4 awakes and 1 watchtower left there.
someone must have been counselled about not placing enough literature.
we never heard them knock and we are not that deaf, at least we didn't think so.

i have just finished reading brock talons second book (see above).
well worth the read.
terribly honest and humbling to read.
I just finished reading both books on Kindle, the Paradise one last night. I'm going to get Mr Awake at last to read them now. They were both good in their own ways but most people will relate to the Paradise book more as most have not been to Bethel.
Thank you Brock for two good reads.

Mr Awake at last commented about how thin they were too. He is learning TTATT now too.
i haven't really got time to read the mags as keeping up with JW.com takes up all my reading time these days plus the Late Ray Franz books occupy much of my time too. I have also just finished reading two of Brock Talons books. So as you can see, I keep myself busy these days.
